Where is I?

Once upon a time
There lived Innocence
Till Life the sculptor
Used many a tool
Friends, enemies, strangers
And chipped away
To reveal Worldlywise.
I freed him, he said

But Innocence lives trapped
Life keeps him ensnared
If Innocence returns
Will not Worldlywise wan?
His failed creation.
Innocence after all shines bright
While Life’s creation is pockmarked
Scarred, ruined

Innocence is in the Lion’s cubs’ shoes
A cub captured by man and treated well
But the cub no more has a life.
The pack is scared.
They see a forgotten themselves,
He reminds them of a tragedy.
Innocence can’t survive
Stifle him, no kill.
Worldywise and his pack
They can’t live in a dream.

Good one .Just two observations J

1.Second para -Why does innocence live trapped when it is freed .It is mutually exclusive! Worldy wise cannot be reversed .So probably innocence hovers on to land on something just shaping up, someone on the way to keep its image alive. But yes the instinct for innocence does visit.

3.Third Para-The spirit of the Lion cub is different .The moment it sees its reflection in the water it goes back to roam the wilderness. Now he needs to decide how often he wants to see that image. This Lion cub is unnecessarily triggering anxiety I guess.

Innocence was never freed. He was marred by Life and renamed worldly-wise. The act can’t be undone. But the person is the same. And deep beneath Innocence would like to surface once again. But at every attempt he is scared back into submission and generally even gives up trying. Once in a while you feel that twinge. Once in a while you might let that twinge take a decision. But always with trepidation. you can’t help wonder whether the consequences will be too much to handle; whether this show of softness would be construed a weakness.

Well, I guess I should have explained the Lion Cub part a little better.

Well I had seen this program where a lion cub is captured and for years lives as a captive of humans. Later someone decides to free him. He rushes into the wild. But the Lion Pack can smell the human stink on him and are immediately wary. They don’t let him near them. When he tries to convince them they repel him and drive him away. So he is alone in the wild. He’s a lion but doesn’t know how to even hunt. He has to learn fast or die. In most cases he dies. There are cases where he became a man-eater. You might think it’s revenge. But then he’s hungry and man is the easiest prey. And there was also a case where he actually went back to the humans.

Good effort but you need to pay more attention to detail. Some flaws in the language in places.
